This is a 1946 Dodge pickup. It was in the process of being restored when I saw it. It ran and I actually got to drive it, which was awesome! It still needed the body work to be completed, but I loved the "broken in" look of this truck. It just seemed to feel right that it wasn't in cherry condition and was a "work truck."

There was a beautiful sunset on a friends property when I was visiting. Luckily, I had enough sense to remember my camera before leaving the house. I used 5 exposures to create this HDR image. I wanted to keep in pretty low key in terms of the HDR because I wanted to make sure that the dramatic contrast in the foreground and sky remained center stage in this image.

It was a very droll day when I took this photograph. The sky was grey and the ground was mostly covered in snow, but I had my camera and I really liked this composition. When arranging this shot, I had this sense of a dramatic lighting effect and a cool color palate. In post, I did some dodging and burning to bring out the contrast and overlaid a blurred texture to manifest my vision.

Another old Dodge truck I came across. This one was broken down and rusted. The grill had this amazing detail that just drew me in. When I was reviewing this image after the shot, I thought is would look amazing as a cross-processed image. I really focused on making the colors incredibly vivid and a little surreal.

This is the Palouse. There are miles of fields in the area and can feel a bit overwhelming sometimes. This is from late in the year after harvest. Clouds were rolling through and there were spots of rain. I came across one particular stretch where big clouds were rolling by and there was just this feeling of desolation.

My family and I decided to go out for a quick photo shoot in our area at sunset. We drove out a little ways and stopped at a filed that seemed to have a pretty good composition with where the sun was setting and tree coverage in the background. I got down low for this shot to keep the tall grass in the forground and was excited when these colors starting coming through.

I was taking some macro shots of the flowers at my in-laws and found a pretty good composition in this hydrangea. I felt that the pretty and smooth composition of this would contrast nicely with some grungy texture. I was very please with the result.

I'm still not quite certain on what I find most appealing about this composition. I will be the first to admit that it may be over processed, yet I can't bring myself to change anything about it. I love the colors and the overall subdued feeling on this photograph.

A big red barn. Perhaps the epitome of country photography, but can you blame us, it just looks so good!
